As we prepare for the Carrier Library renovation and expansion, JMU Libraries Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is committed to maintaining availability and equitable access to our service. Please note the following schedule and plan your research needs accordingly:
Requesting loans from other libraries:
Beginning Monday, April 24, 2023 when the ILL office and staff are relocated, you may experience longer turnaround time for loan requests from other institutions.
Requesting articles from other libraries:
There will be no disruption to articles being borrowed from other institutions.
Scan & Deliver from JMU Libraries:
Due to collection moves, Scan & Deliver may experience longer than 48-hour turnaround.
IMPORTANT:
- Although Carrier & Rose Libraries will be closed from May 12 -21, 2023, you may continue to submit requests for physical and electronic materials through your ILL account
- 24/7 access to any electronic delivery articles that you have received will not change
- Physical materials received from other libraries after May 11, 2023 will be available to pick up on Monday, May 22, 2023
- When Carrier Library closes on Thursday, May 11, 2023, any physical ILL materials remaining on the Carrier Library ILL pick up shelf will be unavailable for retrieval until Monday, May 22, 2023, at which time they can be picked up at 1050 S. Main St.
Between now and May 11, 2023, you have the option to update your chosen delivery location to something other than Carrier Library. Log into your ILL account and select Edit Your Information (under the Account Info & History heading). Scroll down to Delivery Location and choose from the following:
- Rose Library = Pick up materials at the Ask The Library Desk, main lobby of Rose Library
- 1050 S. Main St. = Pick up materials at the main lobby desk of 1050 S. Main St.
- Memorial Hall = Pick up materials at the ETMC (Educational Technology & Media Center), Room 7260
- Music Library = Pick up materials in the Music Building, Room B59
- Dept. MSC delivery = Faculty and Staff can have materials delivered to office MSC
- Distance Learner = Materials ship to your home address, if you qualify as a Distance Learner
